How to Develop an Anxiety Cure Made Just for You

Although there are tons of books and videos out there on finding the right anxiety disorder cure, not every method works the same for every person. In fact, some methods don't work for some people at all! In many cases, coming up with a combination of ideas and utilizing them to form your own anxiety cure can be the best treatment that you can possible use.

So how can you come up with your own anxiety cure? To start with, don't completely disregard other sources as they can present valuable information. Although the methods mentioned might not work completely for you, you might still be able to take things from them and use them to fit your needs.

For example, taking a deep breath and counting to "10" might not do anything for you. However, taking a deep breath, closing your eyes, and thinking of a gentle babbling stream might calm your nerves.

On the other hand, while meditation might not work for you, you might be able to use an aspect of meditation. Simply closing your eyes, practicing deep breathing, and thinking pleasant thoughts for a period of 5-10 minutes could be more beneficial to you than chanting, focusing on one word or phrase, or listening to music to help encourage tranquility.

One piece of good advice that is often given in anxiety cures is to focus not on eliminating sources of anxiety, but trying to control how you react to the stimulants that cause you anxiety. For instance, you might not be able to control the large crowds at Wal-Mart. However, you can try to control the way that you react to those large crowds.

Sometimes, the realization that you do have a certain amount of control over situations can be enough to help some forms of anxiety. It is often the loss of control and the "what if?" factor that makes people most anxious.

Taking a look at your own personal anxiety sources and telling yourself that while you can't control how they function, but that you can control how they affect your life, not only gives you power, but lets you have control as well.

Although some of the books, tapes, websites, and other sources of information might seem irrelevant to you and your anxiety, don't completely disregard them. Sometimes, useful information can be found that can help you formulate your own plan.
